Meet our Presenters
Susan Cooper
Chief Integration Officer and Senior Vice President for Regional One Health
Susan Cooper serves as Chief Integration Officer and Senior Vice President for Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee where she oversees ROH's Center for Population Health and Clinical Innovation. She led the development and implementation of One Health, a program to serve uninsured, medically and socially complex patients.
Before joining ROH, Ms. Cooper served as a gubernatorial special policy advisor charged with developing a safety net of services for the uninsured. Subsequently, she became the first and only registered nurse to be appointed as Commissioner of Health, a cabinet level position in the State of Tennessee. She established innovative policies, programs, and partnerships designed to improve the health of Tennesseans. She has extensive experience in prevention, health policy, population health, preparedness, public health and working with vulnerable populations.
A former Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Cooper has served on numerous national committees and boards focused on improving the health of vulnerable communities.
A frequently requested speaker, she has presented both nationally and internationally. She currently serves as the Chair of the Essential Hospitals Institute of America’s Essential Hospitals.
Tausha Alexander Tausha represents the TN Association of Nurse Anesthetists and has over twenty years of government relations experience representing clients before the state legislature and to the executive branch. Prior to her forming her own solo practice in 2011, Alexander was a founding partner in another government relations practice after serving as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the Tennessee Bankers Association since 2007. She was promoted from her role as Associate Counsel, a position she had held since 2002. Before focusing on government relations, Alexander practiced law in Kingsport, Tennessee. Alexander received both her undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Tennessee where she was named a Torchbearer. | Chris Gobble Chris is a respected government affairs professional with deep issue expertise in numerous sectors, from local government and healthcare to business and education. Chris has spent over a decade building strong relationships with key state officials and industry stakeholders, which he uses to help SRG clients navigate complex political challenges and effectively advance meaningful policy solutions. Chris’s lobbying experience includes serving as the legislative and policy director for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security and senior director of public policy for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. In each of these roles, he worked closely with the Tennessee Governor’s office and the state legislature to develop and implement various public policy initiatives. Chris is a graduate of Lipscomb University and lives in Nashville with his wife and twin sons, Ethan and Levi. | Lacey Blair Lacey Blair is the vice president of state government affairs for the Tennessee Hospital Association, in which she serves as the association’s chief state lobbyist. In this role, Blair leads a team dedicated to ensuring the ability of hospitals to provide the highest quality care for patients. THA’s advocacy efforts focus on a wide range of regulatory and policy issues aimed at supporting the mission of Tennessee’s hospitals to serve the healthcare needs of communities across the state. Blair joined the association in 2018 as THA’s senior director of advocacy. Prior to coming to the association, she worked in the administration of Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, where she served as a legislative liaison for the Tennessee Department of Health. Blair has a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Alabama. She lives in Brentwood with her husband, Jesse, and their two young children, Crockett and Tennyson, and their bernedoodle, Sugar. |
