Positions available include:Vice-President: Contribute to the strategic direction of our district and assist in leading our initiatives.Secretary: Play a vital role in maintaining records, managing communications, and keeping our operations running smoothly.Director (2): Get involved in decision-making and project implementation as part of our dedicated board.

TNA District 3 Educational Scholarship

The Tennessee Nurses Association District 3 Educational Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to nursing students, both licensed and non-licensed, pursuing their educational goals. This scholarship will award two scholarships, each valued at $1,000 (one for Pre-Licensure and another for Post-Licensure), to aid with tuition, books, and educational expenses. Eligible students living, or attending school in District 3, specifically Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Wayne, and Williamson, can apply to this scholarship which will be awarded in January 2025.

Approval and Eligibility Criteria:

  • Scholarships are sanctioned by the Tennessee Nurses Association District 3 Board of Directors.
  • Must be a pre-licensure student (LPN-RN, ASN/ADN, and BSN) or a post-licensure student (RN-BSN/MSN, MSN, terminal degree).
  • Criteria for application:
    • Enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education.
    • Residence or schooling within eligible District 3 counties.
    • Submission of academic records, personal reflection, reference, and 2 letters of recommendation.
    • Ability to attend the TNA District 3 Membership January 2025 Meeting, in person.

Application Process:

  • Requirements:
    • Resident or attending academic nursing program in eligible District 3
    • Completion of the TNA D3 Educational Scholarship Application.
    • Program enrollment proof and unofficial academic transcripts, if selected official required prior to receipt
    • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8
    • Essay (Maximum of 500 words)
      • Leadership potential, financial need, academic merit, nursing commitment, community involvement
    • (2) Letters of reference and recommendation from one faculty and one District 3 TNA member.

Selection Criteria:

  • Priority will be given to financial need, academic merit, nursing commitment, leadership potential, and community involvement.

For submission and inquiry:

  • Deadline: November 1, 2024, 11:59 PM CST – Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Scholarship finalists: Notified by December 1, 2024, requiring official transcripts ensuring still in good academic standing concluding the fall 2024 semester
  • Scholarship winners: Notified by end of December 2024
  • All submission components are to be submitted via one email: district3@tnurses.care
