Edna Mason Memorial TNA Conference Scholarship


The Tennessee Nurses Foundation is pleased to offer a scholarship to attend the TNA Annual Conference in honor of Edna Mason, RN, a devoted, long-time member of the Tennessee Nurses Association. Ms. Mason was a staff nurse from the Knoxville, TN, area and she and her husband, Ray, never missed coming to TNA’s Annual Conferences. Edna’s kindness, bubbly spirit, and willingness to serve will long be remembered.

TNA's Annual Conference will be held October 10-12, 2024, at the Mt. Juliet Hilton Garden Inn, Mt. Juliet, TN. Visit the website for conference details as they become available. DEADLINE TO APPLY: Thursday, August 29, 2024. Awardee/s receive a 100% discount on TNA’s Annual Conference registration fee. The scholarship value is yet to be determined. This scholarship does not cover lodging or travel. Transportation to and from the conference, hotel, additional meals, incidentals, etc., are the responsibility of the scholarship winner. 

*The number of scholarships awarded will be based on funds available. 

Eligibility:

  1. This scholarship will be awarded only to registered nurses in direct care, AND you must be a first-time attendee to the TNA Annual Conference. Previous conference attendees will not be eligible. Individuals who have received any scholarships from TNF in the last two years are not eligible. Applicant does not have to be a member of TNA.

  2. The TNF Awards Committee's decision on this scholarship is based on the applicant's letter that includes financial need, immediate professional aspirations, and how this conference can help you reach your professional development goals. Please limit your letter to three pages.

LPN to RN Scholarship Program

The Tennessee Nurses Foundation supports the education of Licensed Practical Nurses by providing scholarships for those nurses seeking higher education through an accredited LPN to RN nursing program.

Scholarship applications are reviewed once each year in the amount of $5,000. The Deadline is March 1.

Open submission period will begin on January 1. Submission requires several document uploads.

2024 LPN to RN Scholarship Winners

Scarlett Baughn, LPN  

I could not be more grateful and humbled to receive this scholarship. I have been an LPN for almost eight years, and every time I wanted to go back to school, finances have been an issue. The Tennessee Nurses Foundation has provided me with peace of mind with paying a large portion of my RN tuition. I can now go forward with pursuing my dreams and continue taking care of patients with a higher education. I cannot wait to join the TNA one day as Scarlett Baughn, RN. Again, thank you so much for this amazing opportunity.

Regional Educational Scholarship

This is a scholarship awarded to an individual in each of three regions in Tennessee (west, middle, east) in the amount of $5,000.
Applicant must be enrolled in an entry-level nursing program in an accredited institution of higher education.

    2024 Regional Educational Scholarship Winners

    Rachel Beauchamp

    I am extremely grateful for the honor I have of receiving this scholarship from the Tennessee Nurses Foundation. This scholarship is going to help ease some of my financial burdens. Through this financial assistance, I will be able to concentrate more on my studies and face any challenges that may come across while pursuing my nursing degree. As I face the trials of nursing school, I’ll remain steadfast because of the immense support from my loved ones. In the world of nursing, it is incredibly important to remember the importance of humility, integrity, and compassion. As I embark on my journey to become a healthcare professional, I will never forget to uphold these values. With the support of this scholarship, I am confident that I can not only achieve my academic goals but also make a genuine and meaningful impact in the lives of every patient I encounter.

    I am humbled to be a recipient of the Tennessee Nurses Foundation West Regional Scholarship. This award will hold immense value in relieving the cost of tuition toward my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Christian Brothers University. The scholarship will prove instrumental in advancing my career, allowing me to pursue my lifelong ambition of becoming a distinguished Pediatric Nurse. Through this profession, I aspire to alleviate the suffering of children and provide them with the support and patient-centered care they need to overcome their darkest moments. I am grateful to have the opportunity to pursue this purpose without undue financial burden.

    What an honor it is to receive this scholarship. I am truly humbled by and appreciative of your generous support towards my education and career aspirations. Receiving this scholarship has brought some particularly welcome relief to my current financial situation. After some health complications from surgery that prevented me from working and earning wages last Summer, this scholarship will help mitigate my financial shortfall during this challenging time, allowing me to focus on my recovery and continued pursuit of my educational goals.

    I am also incredibly grateful for the validation that this scholarship represents. Despite the health challenges that I have experienced all my life, I am so proud of my self-motivation to work longer and harder than my peers, not only to keep up but to achieve the lofty goals I set for myself. Being recognized by others through scholarships like this truly validates my efforts and reinforces my determination to continue my studies and make a positive impact on the lives of others as a nurse.

        2024 Maureen Nalle Memorial Graduate Nursing Scholarship Winners

        Helen Conley, RN, BSN, CCRN

        The Maureen Nalle Memorial Graduate Nursing Scholarship has been a tremendous asset to me. It has alleviated the financial burden that I was previously experiencing and allowed me to focus more intently on my academic and community involvement. I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my aspirations as a future nurse educator and CRNA, and this scholarship has made that goal achievable.         LEADERSHIP NURSING GRANT PROGRAM

        Program Purpose

        The Tennessee Nurses Foundation (TNF) Leadership Nursing Program is a grant initiative designed to enhance nursing leadership abilities by establishing a statewide network of nurse leaders, expanding nurses' community knowledge, and motivating them to serve as role models of increased community involvement.

        Eligibility Process

        TNF recognizes that additional training may be required in order for nurses to participate in public policy development. This program provides an opportunity for RNs to choose a local, regional, state, or national program to develop these skills.

        Participation is limited to registered nurses who are members of the Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA). You must be practicing in Tennessee and demonstrating leadership qualities, with a commitment to professional growth and a larger role in community leadership.

        Leadership Nursing Grant Program Criteria & Application

        Nursing Research Grants

        The Tennessee Nurses Foundation provides grants to nurses who are members of the Tennessee Nurses Association engaging in scientific and other research projects focusing on nursing practice.

        Grant applications are reviewed twice each year.
        Submission deadline dates per fiscal year are the last day of August and February. If you miss a deadline, your grant application will not be reviewed until after the next deadline date.

        Nursing Research Grant Criteria and Application

        On behalf of Austin Peay State University School of Nursing, I would like to express our profound gratitude for the TNF grant to support the Do you want to be a nurse? Summer Camp 2024 for High School Students. Because of your generosity, we will be able to fund our research study, support camp learning experiences such as a Basic Life Support class, and purchase additional practice items for the summer camp skills lab. We have a variety of activities planned to allow camp participants to explore their interests in the nursing profession. The summer camp will impact 25 high school students from Montgomery and surrounding counties.
