2023 LPN to RN Scholarship Winners

Kristan Dekmar, LPN

My name is Kristan Dekmar, and I'm currently an LPN working at Vanderbilt in Urology that is pursing my BSN. Being able to win this scholarship helps me out tremendously because I no longer can receive federal loans. I am beyond grateful for this scholarship; I thought that I would have to give up on my goals of becoming an RN. I am excited to bring my goals into fruition, and it hits home because I am the first college graduate in my family.

Amount received: $5,000.

Arienne Elie, LPN

Receiving this nursing scholarship is essential in helping me achieve my academic and career goals. My passion for nursing comes from a deep desire to care for and assist those suffering from illness. Although nursing may not be the most glamorous career path, it is incredibly fulfilling to me. As a nursing student, my commitment is to become a highly skilled and compassionate nurse who can provide the best possible care to patients.

However, the costs associated with pursuing a nursing degree can be significant, including tuition fees, textbooks, and other expenses. This scholarship will provide me with the financial support I need to focus more fully on my studies and less on financial concerns. With this scholarship, I can pay for educational materials and other necessary expenses without the added stress of worrying about how to fund them. This will give me more time to devote to my coursework and clinical experiences, enabling me to excel academically and gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.

In closing, I am honored to be a recipient of the Tennessee Nurses Foundation LPN to BSN scholarship, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my aspirations. This scholarship will help me achieve my long-term career goals, positioning me to enter the workforce as a skilled and confident healthcare professional. I am committed to making a positive impact in the lives of my patients and contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession. With this scholarship, I am confident that I can turn my dream into a reality.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity.
